On the 10th to 12th March 2026, STL Research will be exhibiting at Oceanology International, as part of the National Centre for Marine Autonomy stand (Q400), which is being co-ordinated by Plymouth and South Devon Freeports.
Oceanology International (OI), which runs every two years, was launched in the UK in 1969, and has now established itself as the leading global forum where industry, academia and government share knowledge and connect with the world’s marine science and ocean technology communities.
This year’s conference and exhibition will welcome over 8,000 attendees and enable more than 500 exhibitors to showcase the latest ocean technologies and developments on the event floor, as well as on water demos and vessels.
With Plymouth being designated, by the UK government, as the National Centre for Marine Autonomy (NCMA) in 2025, being part of the stand represents a perfect opportunity for STL Research to showcase their specialisation in motion compensation, control and automation for offshore and subsea industries.
David Kirkley, Managing Director of STL Research explains, “Our Proteus Launch and Recovery System, which can be installed on any suitable vessel, including autonomous and unmanned surface vessels, enables the safe launch and recovery of autonomous marine equipment, under local or remote control.”

David continued, “As OI also showcases cutting–edge technologies and solutions, we will also be promoting our Neptune Personnel Access System, which enables the safe and efficient transfer of personnel with equipment, from a vessel via a gondola, to a fixed, or floating, offshore structure with full motion compensation to remove wave induced motions”
STL Research’s Business Development Manager, Phil Vosper, will be in attendance for the full three days of the exhibition, and would be more than happy to discuss products, services, and capabilities with all interested parties.
